Support the Duck Stop Cancer Race

It’s the 10th anniversary of the festival and will be held on Saturday 15 October at Riverside Drive, West End where thousands are expected to flock to the river’s edge to be a part of the fun and festivities the day has to offer along with the iconic race that quacks the nation – Australia’s Biggest Duck Race!
The festival kicks off midday and runs through until 10pm. We encourage everyone to come on down for the day and check out some of the amazing new attractions.
TOP 10 MUST SEE AND DO EVENTS AT SUMMERTIME RIVERFEST
1. AUSTRALIA’S BIGGEST DUCK RACE
It’s a quacking great race that could win one lucky duck a $31,000 car, a $10,000 boat thanks to Port of Brisbane or a $2000 holiday voucher!
The 2pm show stopper will be watching tens of thousands of yellow rubber ducks tipped in to the Brisbane River turning the water into a sea of yellow as they race along a 100m course in the fight against cancer. Get your race ticket.
2. PRADELLA RIVERSTAGE
Music and entertainment will quite literally take to the water this year with the addition of the festival’s Pradella Riverstage at the iconic duck race.
The Riverstage will provide festival goers with a perfect way to chill out along the river banks while enjoying a Saturday session with some of Brisbane’s best local artists.
The Riverstage will be a great mix of reggae to rockabilly creating infectious fun to keep you shaking your tail feathers well into the night.
3. gotU DUCK INN – CHILL OUT ZONE (18+)
The gotU Duck Inn is THE Chill Out Zone to be in. It’s sure to fit the bill with Brisbane artists like Shanon Watkins who’s music has been described as a cross between Ben Harper and Jack Johnson with soulful vocals, acoustic guitar, melodies and lyrics all uniquely Watkins.
The dance remix of Shanon Watkins’ single One by One debuted on the US Music Week Top 20 Radio Dance Club Charts at No. 2, beating Queen B, Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake.
4. ST GEORGE GONE QUACKERS KIDS ZONE
Exactly as the name suggests this is THE area for kids to hang out have fun, learn and explore. Meet Festival Ambassadors Duane and Kellyn with some of Australia’s furry animals or pat a python with the Channel Ten’s Totally Wild Stage Show, sing and dance along with street characters, explore your inner artist and make your very own yellow rubber race duck. There’s also face painting and zorbing which makes the kid’s zone the perfect chill-out zone for the whole family during a big quacking day out.
5. CELEBRITY DUCK RACE
Who doesn’t love a bit of competition between celebrities? Celebrities will take on each other to see who will be the mightiest duck of them all in the Celebrity Duck Race. Those brave enough will embark in a giant inflatable duck on the Brisbane River and prepare for a feathery battle down a 50 metre course. Be prepared for a laugh or two as this race never disappoints!
6. REGATTA GOURMET STREET BITES
What would a festival be without a lane of gourmet food to tantalise your taste buds. Take a waddle down the Regatta Gourmet Street and feast on shucked oysters, Baguettes, Gourmet Skewers & Pizza. And don’t forget something from the ducklings from sizzling sausages, fresh summer fruits and ice cream! Or to cater to those sweet tooths The Greek Club cater to your sweet tooth with Baklava, nut and honey pastry rolls and more…
7. WADDLE INN FREE ASCC SKIN CHECKS
Don’t be a sitting duck when it comes to your skin, make your way to this Australian Skin Cancer Centre’s tent to get your FREE SKIN CHECK, grab some free sun screen and get all the safe skin advice from this awesome team. We are all about prevention and what better way to prevent skin cancer than by ducking in to visit this team!
8. REGATTA DUCKS NUTS INN – (18+)
The Regatta Hotel has moved to the Summertime Riverfest for the party! To provide the perfect pew front and centre of the Pradella Riverstage to catch all of the festival’s best action! Grab your flock a booth and relax for the afternoon or shake your tail feathers into the evening and hit the dance floor in front of the Riverstage. You’d be quackers to miss this one.
9. LITTLE DUCKLINGS EATS
Your little ducklings have their very own food zone to keep them quacky. Sausage sizzle, Summertime fruit and Ice-cream quack quack!
10. SUPPORT THE DUCK STOP CANCER
If you give a quack about cancer buy your official duck merchandise like your very own limited race edition duck, a quacking whistle or a Stop Cancer armband AND if you see our Volunteers waddling around in their yellow Support the Duck T-Shirts with their yellow donation buckets please stop and lighten your pockets for the cause.
