How my life began and why I have chosen this Journey.
My first memories of my life began as a lonely fellow sitting on a shelf in the post office in Southport on the Gold Coast, with a couple of people like myself, hoping that one day someone would walk into the post office, see the love in my eyes and decide to love me and want me and give me the opportunity to share the unconditional love that I so desperately wanted to give.
On the 19th July 2003 that moment arrived. Someone walked into the post office our eyes met. It was love at first sight and thus began my incredible journey.
I want to share my journey so far with everyone as I have learnt that the greatest gift of all is unconditional love. Love makes the world go around and in so many ways it can be the difference between success and failure, in self-esteem or a feeling of inadequacy.
It can bring hope where there is despair, joy where there is sorrow and most of all it costs nothing.
My First Adventure
My first adventure into the real world began when I went to the Mater Hospital in Brisbane to meet the children who are not well, but are able to be part of a wonderful program called “Radio Lollipop” that allows children the opportunity to choose the songs that they want to be played and then broadcasts them through the hospital. It is a voluntary run program which brings incredible joy and happiness to so many children who are forced to spend time in hospital. These children are often sad and lonely missing their families and siblings, and this program helps to alleviate this.
They loved me when they first met me and they named me Benji thus I was christened and we started a wonderful relationship which has lasted for many years. I am always invited to their parties and special events and they help me celebrate my birthday. I love all the staff and children and I am sure that they love me.
My friendship with them goes even deeper as I always participate in the little miracles Walks and any other fundraising activities that are run to help the organization.
I love children and I am very fortunate to be part of their journeys.
Believe me Love conquers everything removes all barriers and brings peace and happiness.
I was at the Mater Hospital the other day for the Radio Thon and it is amazing to see the wonderful work they are all doing to help the children, I always feel so proud when I am invited to be part of any fundraising that the hospital is involved in.
