Gold Coast Homeless Connect

Homeless Connect 2016 is a massive community event that brings together community organisations, retailers and service providers to support our homeless and at risk of being homeless citizens.
The day provides guests with recreational activities, entertainment, personal care (including showers, haircuts and healthcare), and access to a range of support services, clothing, tinned food, footwear and toiletries. A delicious breakfast, morning tea and lunch will be provided to all guests.
Each year we ask you to join us, in donating a few basics, such as: toiletries, disposable nappies, clothing, canned food, blankets, sleeping bags and bottled water.
This year I am joining Animal Welfare League of Queensland and Rosies On The Street at Homeless Connect 2016 to support this great day.
For a lot of these people, their beloved pet is the only companionship they have and the only love the receive on a daily basis.
AWLQ believes in embracing a brighter future for all animals. So they will be at Metricon Stadium for Homeless Connect providing free vaccinations, microchips, desexing vouchers, free health checks and advice.
AWLQ will also make sure these animals basic needs are cared for by providing donated blankets and coats, collars and leads and pet food.
