This is another festival held every year at the Tweed. I am usually fortunate enough to be invited to join a float, and then to attend the celebrations that follow.
The festival is a weeklong festival and ends with a grand parade and the family fun day is held at Knox Park on the Saturday.
There are numerous displays in the Tweed area as well as activities associated with the festival and of course plenty of bananas.
The event was first established in 1956 and has run every year since. It is established as a nonprofit charity with a platform for the raising of funds for a number of charities.
The festival is a valuable resource providing experiences for quest participants in public speaking, developing confidence and having an enjoyable time.
The Queen and teen queen will become ambassadors for the wonderful Tweed Valley.
